Luggage

Brand: Travel

I own a hand luggage of over 12 years old already of the brand 'Travel', which is to be purchased at 'Edisac' in my region.
Their luggage is quite affordable (not the cheapest brand but not nearly as expensive as the well-known travel brands) and for the amount of kilometers I've already done with it, you can't miss. Mine only has 2 wheels where now I would prefer 4, but all their new ones seem to have 4. And honestly, unless my blue little one would break down suddenly, I won't change it for the world, it holds so many memories...

Packing cubes

They don't only help you organizing your suitcase better, they also save you so much space, especially if you have ones with a compression system.

World travel adapter

In several parts of the world you simply cannot live without and we all have so many devices to charge these days. Invest in one that does all parts of the world immediately and try to find a brand with an extra security against overheating, as not every country has the same voltage... Also look well to the number of USB C outlets as those are the cables your new devices will have the following years.

Luggage lock TSA

In more and more airports a luggage strap is no longer allowed. I therefore always take an extra luggage lock with me when traveling, so that if necessary I have an extra lock for my suitcase, hand luggage, backpack or to close something else off that needs protecting.

On the road

Uniqlo round shoulder bag

The bag that went viral, yes that one. It's cheap and trust me, it does fit so many things in there!

Its my go to travel bag, especially when traveling alone, as it keeps my hands free and just stores more than any other bag I've owned of that size. As you can keep the zipper close to you, it's also quite secure. And it has not worn out one bit, after many many city trips. I am waiting for their new collection to buy a summery colour next.

What I standard fit in there:
Phone, Wallet, sunglasses, portable charger + cable, lipbalm, hairclips, foldable bag, keycards for hotel/metro, tissues, sunscreen tube, little medicine box

Backpack Cabaia adventurer medium

This is what I currently travel with, but I guess any backpack you have can do.
The specific features I love about this one:

  • Integrated bottle holder strap
  • Laptop / tablet holder
  • Key chain holder
  • Possibility to add extra storage on the side when wanted to
  • Zipper + extra push button for extra security
  • Little back pocket that holds for example passport / id-card
  • Back strap to store backpack on your hand-luggage

Noise cancelling headphones Bose Quietcomfort SC

Bought these for longer flights and trust me, once you have noise cancelling you won't want anything else.
It just helps you 'relax' on the plane as you don't hear all the hussle around you of people talking, passengers talking loudly to airline staff and most of all, less noise of the motors of the aircraft which depending on your seating position can be a lot.

I did not buy a super expensive one as at that point in time I had many other fees for my travel, I hope to invest in an even better once if I need to buy a new one in a few years time. But this one definitely does its job.

Outfit

If anyone asks me what shoes to wear for longer distances, I always reply 'Hoff sneakers'. I now have 3 pair of sneakers from them and 1 pair of sandals. I've done all my latest trips on them, with an average of 25.000 steps a day. I don't want any other shoes anymore, my feet are not hurting at all and I've had so much issues with other brands.

Toiletries

Yves Rocher Hair and body wash 'Concentré au Monoï' 100 ml

This just smells like holidays, no other way to describe it. It's a super concentrated formula so a little drop is enough, you can use it both as a body wash but also as a shampoo if needed. As it's 100 ml max, you can bring it in your hand luggage without problems.

Finance

Revolut Visa Card

Travel is fun but if you're going to a country with another currency, the amount of conversion and transaction fees can become a big extra on your budget. With Revolut, you can simply change your own currency to another currency without fees, up to a certain limit. So when I go to the UK, I change X EUR in GBP, so that for every payment I make it gets debited in GBP. No conversion fees for me. And after your stay, you can just change whatever you have left back to EUR. Used it as wel for HUF in Budapest, CAD in Canada, USD in New York.. So easy and you can purchase a card for free. (A referral link is available, please DM me)

Another plus: I use this as an extra prepaid creditcard. I only send X amount of EUR to this card and keep it with me when I go out during daytime. If I lose the card, I can immediately block it from my phone. And if they managed to do payments with it, I can't lose any more than the amount I've put on there...

It's just a way of feeling safer too, having my 'regular creditcard' in the hostel/hotel where I stay, knowing if I lose 1 card I have another one left...

Documents & others

I always have a paper copy of my ID-card and passport with me, just in case I would lose my ID or if it would get stolen. Often I add a copy of important documents to this (copy of flight / train reservations), medicine prescriptions etc. as we never know when a phone might be out of battery.
